Peter Hutchinson is a member of the HSES Committee of PIDG Ltd.. After graduating from Oxford University in Chemistry, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte. Post-qualification, he worked in a variety of engineering companies in the electrical sector, specialising in project and export finance in the developing world. In 1998, he joined Balfour Beatty as Finance Director of their railway engineering group in the UK, taking responsibility for a major acquisition programme developing a substantial presence in mainland Europe. He subsequently acted as Managing Director of both the UK and later, the German rail businesses. Most recently he was Executive Director of Green Africa Power, a PIDG facility providing intermediate capital to renewable energy generation projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
