Capital Market Development

PIDG is committed to supporting the growth of domestic capital markets through capacity building. Our Credit Solutions businesses provide long-term debt and credit enhancement to emerging and frontier market issuers raising local currency debt, enabling local insurance companies, pension funds and financial institutions, as well as introducing offshore investors, and thereby greater liquidity, into frontier and emerging markets.

We will select a few countries where we will drive a volume of work to local capital markets and the development of national savings systems, in order to effect a change to the financial system as a whole and encourage infrastructure as an asset class in such countries for local and foreign investors. Furthermore, through our local presence and the embedding of local people in those local companies with the right skills and expertise, we will become an intrinsic part of the drivers of societal change. Development of local markets and investor confidence in such markets will also help offer exit solutions for our Developer-Investor business.
